Helen Dooley is an English teacher and part time writer from St Helens, near Liverpool. After twenty years as a primary school teacher, she went onto take a Screenwriting MA at Liverpool John Moore’s University. Following that, she completed the Playwright Development Programme with Liverpool’s Royal Court. Her first play, about a hoarder, was staged at Hope and Gladstone Theatres, where it won an award. More recently, she took part in a television writing mentorship programme with Sky Studios. She is currently working on a radio play about a young couple who move into a haunted house.
