Our Monologues, Ourselves
Contributing Educator: Lori Koenig
This is a short unit designed for students to explore their culture, their family history and their values. The focus of the unit will be to give students an opportunity to research their cultural identity, their family history and to reflect and identify their own values. The culminating activity for this unit will be a monologue performance that showcases the students’ research and their reflections about who they are. There will be two (2) lessons on research and reflection, two (2) lessons on developing a character based on their identity and writing the monologue, and two (2) lessons to rehearse and perform the monologue they write.
