Ash Singer

Ash Singer is a playwright and director whose work blends historical research, oral testimony, and innovative theatrical form. Her documentary play In Their Footsteps – based on interviews she conducted with five American women who served in the Vietnam War – was adapted into a radio drama that won a 2025 Gracies Award. Her immersive docudrama Nellie and the Women of Blackwell, inspired by Nellie Bly’s Ten Days in a Mad-House, was named Best Immersive Theatrical Experience in 2021 by Broadway World and praised by No Proscenium as “a powerful ‘dark ride’ into the history of mental health treatment.”

Ash is currently developing a new play about Hallie Flanagan and the legacy of the Federal Theatre Project. She was honored to research and write for Dramallama’s historical series, bringing the voices of extraordinary women from history to life. Ash is the founder and artistic director of Infinite Variety Productions, a NYC-based documentary theatre company dedicated to illuminating overlooked women’s stories through archival and oral histories.
