The Artemis Society
It’s 1962 at St. Catherine’s, a New England boarding school where rules—and reputations—seem carved in stone. Enter Ms. Connie Weaver, an unconventional new literature teacher who tosses out the old syllabus and invites her students into a world of women’s voices, poetry, and possibility. As her class of sharp, funny, and fiercely individual girls forms a clandestine after-hours circle—the Artemis Society—they discover the joy of learning that feels like living: dance in a classroom, conch-shell roll calls, and poems that crack open their carefully managed lives.
But rebellion has a cost. When the Headmaster pushes back, loyalties are tested, secrets collide, and the girls must decide what they stand for—and who they’ll stand with. The Artemis Society is a warm, witty, and rousing coming-of-age drama about friendship, mentorship, and finding your own light in a world determined to dim it. Heart-forward and ensemble-driven, it celebrates the courage it takes to question tradition, the thrill of first awakenings, and the promise that if we hold fast to one another, we’ll “get to May.”
