/NVASIVE
/Nvasive is a sharp, funny, and unsettling contemporary play set at Weinreich High School, where two tech-savvy teens create a new social media app designed to reward students for capturing bullying, hate speech, and bad behavior on camera. What begins as a well-intentioned idea quickly spirals out of control as the app turns morality into a points system, popularity into currency, and student life into constant surveillance. As rankings rise and clout becomes king, the school divides into “Ranked” and “Unranked,” exposing how easily justice can be distorted when it’s filtered through algorithms and likes.
Led by Becca, one of the few students who refuses to play the game, a small group begins to question what’s been lost in the rush for attention and approval. Blending satire, heart, and absurdity, /Nvasive explores the dangers of performative morality, the pressure of online identity, and the cost of valuing content over compassion. With a large flexible ensemble, fast pacing, and moments that are both laugh-out-loud funny and uncomfortably familiar, the play challenges audiences to ask a vital question: Who are we when no one is watching—and who do we become when everyone is?
