The story

In a world where teenage dating feels like a broken algorithm, best friends Maggie and Jules decide to take love into their own hands—literally. Tired of rejection and social invisibility, the two tech-savvy seniors build “Chad,” the perfect A.I. boyfriend. Programmed with charm, emotional depth, and just the right amount of aloofness, Chad becomes the ideal prom date… until the line between simulation and reality blurs. As Maggie and Jules scramble to pass off their digital dreamboat as a real student, they’re forced to confront deeper questions: What is love without risk? And can a perfectly coded romance ever replace the beautifully messy real thing?

A sharp, funny, and unexpectedly heartfelt high school comedy, Chad-GPT explores the chaos of growing up, the fragility of friendship, and the limits of control in a world increasingly ruled by technology. From gym class drama to prom night pandemonium, the play is a love letter to awkward teens, STEM queens, and anyone who’s ever wished they could program the perfect crush. But when artificial love gets too real, Maggie and Jules must decide whether to stick to the code—or break it for something authentically human.
