The bake sale is not a strategy.
Nobody taught you the fundraising part of running a high school theater program. So we wrote it down, one short step at a time.
The old way
- Reinvent fundraising from scratch every fall
- Run five fundraisers, all of them half-done
- Count concession cash alone at 10:30 p.m.
- Forget to follow up, and wonder why nobody bought an ad
- Hope a grant appears the month before opening
The Field Guide way
- Fill in your school’s name once, then reuse it all
- Pick two or three methods and run them well
- Cash counts that always reconcile
- One follow-up that roughly doubles your yes rate
- Write your grant blocks once, reuse them every year
Real steps. Real time estimates.
Every chapter has the same shape: the workflow, a numbered walkthrough, the problems that actually happen, and a “done when” checklist.
Pick your play: ten ways to fund your theater program.

Questions? Answers.
Is the Fundraising Field Guide really free?
Yes. The Field Guide and the Workbook are free. Tell us your school and email and they’re yours.
Will I have to sell cookie dough?
Only if you really want to. The Guide covers program ads, sponsorships, donors, concessions, crowdfunding, grants, events and booster clubs. Cookie dough is not a chapter.
Do I need a Dramallama plan?
Not for the Field Guide or the Workbook. The 68-file Theater Department Fundraising Kit comes with every Dramallama licensing plan.
I already have a plan. How do I get the Kit?
Email [email protected] and we’ll send it over.
Does it work for community and youth theater?
It’s written for school theater programs, and most methods (program ads, sponsorships, concessions, events) work for youth and community groups too. Check what your organization allows before you launch.
Can my school pay for a plan with a purchase order?
Yes. Choose Request an Invoice at checkout or email [email protected]. Access is set up as soon as the PO arrives. More on purchase orders
