Design Team Introductions
Contributing Educator: Sarah Kate Bode
In this unit, students will learn about the many different design elements that come together to bring the world of a show to audiences. The technical side of a production is what puts the audience in the world of the show. Students will be able to describe the roles and responsibilities of the team members. Theatre is a village of amazing artists (many who take on multiple roles in a production). It takes a lot of work to put on a show and there are many ways students can be involved in your class, program, and beyond. With each lesson in the unit, they will be able to deep dive into a specific design team as well as a main topic where they get to play with creating their own designs. In the culminating experience of the unit, students will be able to present their own design concept for a show.
