Drew Fornarola is a playwright, songwriter, and the Artistic Director of Starring Buffalo. He has written for DreamWorks’ SHREK and VEGGIETALES franchises, and co-wrote STRAIGHT, a New York Times Critics’ pick recently adapted into a major motion picture. His shows for young audiences include TILLY THE TRICKSTER (with Saturday Night Live’s Molly Shannon), Uncle Pirate (based on the book by Douglas Rees), and Awesome Allie: First Kid Astronaut (Vital Theater Company), along with several “shows for grown ups” including GHOST OF JOHN MCCAIN (Soho Playhouse) TIANANMEN (Biller Foundation Social Impact Grant), FAUCI and KRAMER (Buffalo Artie Award) and others. His feature film credits include VEGGIETALES: NOAH’S ARK (DreamWorks Animation), 1 NIGHT IN SAN DIEGO (Hulu), and STRAIGHT (BH5 Studios, Amazon Prime). Drew wrote Hershey’s Unwrapped (over 1000 performances at Hershey Park, IAAPA theme park show of the year), and has performed concerts of his songs around the world, including at Lincoln Center, the Kaufman Music Center, London Theater Workshop (London) and Broadway au Carre (Paris).
