Dramallama U – Theatre for the Neurodiverse Classroom
Contributing Educator: Austin Koenig
This unit is targeted towards K-8 students with significant developmental or learning differences with an ideal class size of 12-16. It is designed for all learners with the underpinning of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a philosophy that focuses on designing lesson plans for every learner, no matter their individual differences. This unit provides a roadmap to educators as they engage every student in exploring narrative structure, cause and effect, relationships, and emotions. Theatre games that incorporate social connection, exploration of voice and body, and storytelling are at the center of this unit.
